Eureka Springs, Arkansas (PRWEB) November 06, 2013
Legendary bluesman B.B. King will be returning to the Eureka Springs City Auditorium at 32 S. Main St. on Monday, Nov. 18. Now in his late 80s, King still draws crowds around the world whenever he and his guitar, fondly known as “Lucille,” play a concert.
For more than half a century, Riley B. King - better known as B.B. King - has defined the blues for a worldwide audience. Since he started recording in the 1940s, King has released over 60 albums, many of them considered blues classics, like 1965's definitive live blues album "Live At The Regal" and 1976's collaboration with Bobby "Blue" Bland, "Together For The First Time."
King has released over 60 albums and his hits include "Payin' The Cost To Be The Boss," “How Blue Can You Get," "Everyday I Have The Blues," "Why I Sing The Blues" and “The Thrill Is Gone.” His achievements include 15 Grammy Awards plus a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and a Grammy Hall of Fame Award; and he is a member of both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame.
The Governor’s Blues Review, five of Tulsa’s finest musicians, will be opening the show for King that evening. Members of the band include Jimmy "Junior" Markham on vocals and harmonica, Charles Tuberville on guitar, Walt Richmond on keyboards, Gary Gilmore on bass, and Charles Blackwell on drums.
Markham has performed with Leon Russell and JJ Cale. Blackwell has performed with Taj Mahal and the late Freddie King, and he and Markham are considered the originators of “The Tulsa Sound.” Gilmore also played with Mahall while Richmond has toured with Eric Clapton for years.
Tickets are $125 and $95 and available for purchase at http://www.theauditorium.org. The show starts at 7:30 p.m.
