Fairfield Theatre Company to Host Second Annual ENCORE Gala
Fairfield, Connecticut (PRWEB) November 06, 2013 -- Join the Fairfield Theatre Company on Nov. 16 as they host one of the most highly-anticipated events of the year. It will be a night filled with live music, art, film, theatre, and culture that should not be missed.
Fairfield Theatre Company (FTC) will hold its second annual ENCORE Gala on Nov. 16 at the FTC Warehouse and StageOne, at 70 Sanford St. in Fairfield. The special evening, which starts at 6 p.m., will be a celebration of FTC’s mission to bring the community together through live music, art, film, theatre, and culture. ENCORE is FTC's signature event and its largest fundraiser of the year.
This year, FTC will honor Rob Fried and Jerry Vigorito from Band Together with the FTC “Artists of the Year” award for their many contributions to the community through music and philanthropy. As the founders of Band Together, Rob and Jerry have helped change many lives by bringing musicians together to raise money for local charities. They have helped to raise over $1 million for local nonprofits from more than 35 concerts during the past seven years.
FTC will also present its “Corporate Citizen of the Year” award to BMW of Bridgeport for their active and generous support of FTC and other charitable organizations. Through their leadership, philanthropy, and generosity, BMW of Bridgeport has demonstrated how deeply they care for the community.
ENCORE guests will be treated to cocktails, delicious hors d’oeuvres donated by The Little Goose, and dinner by Festivities of Norwalk. There will also be enticing silent and live auctions and a memorable video montage created by BizzBuzzTV, highlighting the work of FTC and the musical talent that graces its StageOne on a nightly basis. Fairfield-based artist and illustrator, Leslie Cober-Gentry, is creating the “Music is Art” themed design.
Proceeds from the evening will help FTC continue to offer the very best in arts and entertainment to Fairfield County. Generous donations made to a special appeal during the live auction and to “The Giving Guitar” will help raise funds to acquire a new lighting console and essential backline equipment for StageOne.
One of the special highlights of the evening will be a performance by Ryan Montbleau & Friends. The Boston-based musician will bring his folk rock, soul, R&B, and Americana sound to the gala event. Montbleau will be joined by some of the top musicians from around the country, including Bill Carbone (Max Creek, Z3, Miracle Orchestra, Melvin Sparks), James Cohen (Ryan Montbleau Band), Beau Sasser (Alan Evans Trio, Melvin Sparks), Matt Giannaros (Ryan Montbleau Band), Danny Mayer (Alan Evans Trio), and a three-piece horn section led by Jarett Sims.
“We are excited that 200 fans and supporters will join us to celebrate our great community asset, the Fairfield Theatre Company,” said Gala Chair and FTC Board Vice Chairman, Lou Heumann. “The evening benefits our work and the proceeds are instrumental in helping us bring the very best in live music, art, film, and culture to Fairfield and in advancing educational and community programming.”
“We are very grateful to our ENCORE guests, event sponsors, silent and live auction contributors and our many friends and businesses who support us through donations, ticket purchases, and program ads. The community is very generous in helping FTC raise much-needed funds,” said FTC’s Producing Artistic Director, John Reid. “It is truly amazing to see everyone come together to help make ENCORE a grand success.”
Businesses and individuals are invited to purchase a program ad, donate to the auction, or to come to the event. Those interested can contact FTC Director of Development Brinda Pola at 203-319-1404 ext. 304 or visit http://www.fairfieldtheatre.org.
