There are a number of important improvements to Safyr which enhance its ability to help project staff accelerate delivery and improve access to trusted data through quicker and more comprehensive metadata search and analysis.

Safyr now incorporates tile based navigation to make it easier for new and occasional users to be productive even more rapidly. From the tile screen, users can access all areas of Safyr including the Table and Hierarchy search menus or initiate an extraction from a source system.

The tile screen also contains a link to the new multi-object search features. This enhances the search capabilities of Safyr by allowing the user to include results in the form of Tables, Views, Domains, Data Elements, and Application Hierarchies from a single search term. By returning all the results in a series of nodes categorised by object type, Safyr makes it quicker to find exactly what is needed for the project task.

In a further development Safyr’s comparison functions have been reworked to make it possible to compare the data structures of complete applications as well as Subject areas and to export the results for further analysis. The speed with which this can be achieved has been improved to such a degree that comparing complete SAP systems, for example is now possible within an hour.

There are a number of use cases where this facility would be of value, for example identifying the differences between individual instances of a system (e.g. SAP Paris and SAP Chicago installations) as part of an application rationalisation or consolidation project.

Safyr has also been certified by SAP to support metadata extraction and analysis from SAP systems running on SAP HANA®. This means that Safyr can help customers who are considering or implementing SAP HANA either as their DataWarehouse platform or for their transactional application.
