Independent fashion is so in right now with the college market – nobody wants to be seen in the same outfit as everyone else – and nobody does independent fashion better than UsTrendy.

Unfortunately, attending fashion week events taking place in London, New York, and Milan is a pipe dream for most fashion-oriented college students, but the team at Her Campus know how much most wish they could go. That's why Her Campus hosted its second annual College Fashion Week last month, and UsTrendy participated as the tour's exclusive Independent Fashion clothing line. Since the event kicked off in Orlando, FL, then traveled to Auburn, AL; San Diego, CA; and Boston, MA; this version of Fashion Week was much more accessible to 16-to-24-year-old fashion enthusiasts.
UsTrendy and Her Campus, are both based out of the tour's final location, Boston, and both cater to the young adult female demographic. Since Her Campus is the #1 online community for college-aged women and the #1 college marketing firm, and UsTrendy is the largest independent fashion marketplace, the convergence of the two companies made for a fashion-forward yet student-friendly experience. Hundreds of students attended each show, which flaunted runway looks from UsTrendy designers and other College Fashion Week Sponsors. These looks were customized for the college woman demographic in terms of both taste and affordability, making it a great experience for all. Attendees also enjoyed live music performance and giveaways.
Sam Sisakhti, founder of UsTrendy, said "It was just a few years ago that I was a college student with big hopes and dreams. I always enjoy doing things that involve giving back to this lively community." He also adds, "Her Campus has created an amazing community with terrific content. It's a great creative outlet for young women looking to advance their careers in these fields." Over 100 different looks from UsTrendy were showcased at the event.
"Her Campus was thrilled to be working with UsTrendy on College Fashion Week this year," adds Windsor Hanger Western, co-founder and President of Her Campus. "By working with UsTrendy, Her Campus was able to collaborate with so many different designers, each with their own unique cache. Independent fashion is so in right now with the college market – nobody wants to be seen in the same outfit as everyone else – and nobody does independent fashion better than UsTrendy."
College Fashion Week 2013 was also sponsored by Poppin, Samsonite, Neuro, and Sports Club/LA.
UsTrendy is an indie fashion marketplace boasting hundreds of thousands of independently-produced garments and a system that allows fashion-loving consumers to partake in a style democracy, deciding what is "in" and "out" for themselves. It's the perfect place to buy and sell for fashion aficionados and designers alike.
