Work Market teams up with Vets in Tech for November meetup to support veterans interested in technology and looking for freelance work.

In honor of Veteran’s Day, and in support of the community of United States Veterans pursuing careers in technology, Work Market has signed on to sponsor the November Vets in Tech Meetup Event. This event, which gathers veterans interested in technology careers together with technology entrepreneurs and mentors, is being held at the New York Offices of Union Square Ventures. It will kick-off with opening remarks by Vets in Tech Advisor and craigslist and craigsconnects Founder, Craig Newmark.

Vets in Tech provides technology-specific networks, resources and programs for current and returning veterans interested in education, entrepreneurship, and employment. It was started in July, 2012, by entrepreneur Katherine Webster, founder of TechCentral SF. “Many of the veterans in our community are actively seeking freelance work,” said Ms. Webster. “Work Market is an incredibly valuable resource because of its focus on high quality, professional opportunities across a range of industries. We are especially glad to have Work Market with us tonight as we honor veterans and technology professionals in the New York community.”

At any given time, Work Market has thousands of open freelance positions available in its network. “As members of the New York start-up community, we could not be more proud to introduce Work Market to Vets in Tech,” said Jeffrey Leventhal, CEO of Work Market. “We see freelancers using Work Market to both generate income from freelancing, as well as to build their own entrepreneurial skills. We welcome the members of Vets in Tech to join our platform to find their next freelance position”
