System ID 2013 Barcode Technology Summit to Bring Barcoding Applications to Life on Nov. 11
Plano, Texas (PRWEB) November 08, 2013 -- When a business considers investing in new technology, it can be difficult to picture how the new products being purchased will actually work.
To address this challenge, System ID will feature an “Applications in Action” display at its 2013 Barcode Technology Summit on Nov. 11 at the Gaylord Texan Resort in Grapevine, Texas. Hundreds of small and medium-sized businesses from throughout the country are expected to attend and learn about the latest barcode and RFID trends from pacesetters in the industry.
The Summit includes a Technology Showcase, where more than 20 vendors will display their products and solutions from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. In addition, technical sales experts will be on hand to explain how and why these products will save buyers time and money. Attendees will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with:
- Barcode scanners, mobile computers, barcode printers and barcode labels
- Barcode attachments for consumer devices such as the iPhone
- Video surveillance and access control
- RFID-based asset tracking and management
The Applications in Action area will bring all of these technologies to life, with vignettes that simulate real-world working conditions:
- A mock warehouse environment will show picking stations, a conveyer belt and packing/shipping stations, displaying how barcode technologies used throughout can enhance efficiency
- RFID reader portals and mobile RFID readers will show how assets can be tracked, whether in an office environment or out in the field
- A video surveillance setup will demonstrate how security systems can be leveraged to streamline business processes and drive productivity
“When a business is considering the purchase of new technology, seeing is believing,” said Tom O’Shea, president for System ID. “Instead of telling our attendees about theoretical improvements for their business, we are using the Applications in Action area to give them first-hand experience and insights that will help them choose the best solutions.”
The summit is geared toward companies in the manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, supply chain, retail and transportation industries. In addition, key speakers at the event will go beyond the concept of using barcodes to simply capture data. They will offer analysis and insight on business issues and improvement of processes.
The Technology Showcase will feature leading barcode solution manufacturers Motorola Solutions, Zebra Technologies, Datalogic, Honeywell, Wasp Barcode Technologies, inLogic, Knight Security Systems, Precision Warehouse Design, Black Tie Labels and Supplies, Datamax-O’Neil, Seagull Scientific, SATO, Wavelink, Flowtrac, OKI Printing Solutions, Brother Mobile Solutions, Metalcraft, TracerPlus and ID Technology.
Registration for the event costs $149, but tickets are available at half-price with the promotion code SUMT50. Hotel rooms are available at the Gaylord Texan Resort for those needing overnight accommodation.
