The Academy of Fencing Masters (AFM) Will Conduct a Premier Five Day Winter Fencing Camp from Thursday December 26 to Monday December 30, 2013
Campbell, CA (PRWEB) November 07, 2013 -- This intensive camp will provide mid-season specialized training for foil and epee fencers who want to improve their game. The Academy of Fencing Masters' Winter Fencing Camp is specifically designed to improve physical condition of athletes, strengthen fencing technique and hone tactical skills. The camp is directed by world class AFM Coaches Alexandr Maximovich and Natasha Maximovich, Ph.D.
AFM Winter Fencing Camp is ideal intensive training opportunity for competitive fencers to help them prepare for national level competitions including the January NAC in Virginia Beach and Junior Olympics in Portland. The supportive environment it is also a great way for all intermediate youth fencers to improve their foil or epee skills, conditioning and understanding of tactics and strategy.
AFM Winter Fencing Camp includes:
• physical training and conditioning
• footwork, drills and developmental exercises
• coached open bouting
• bout tactics and strategy,
• mental training for success
Coaches will work with each participant to improve their fencing skills and provide individual constructive feedback on technique and on-strip strategies to help athletes to adjust their game during fencing bouts. Each athlete will be challenged to think critically and develop approaches and methods to improve their fencing performance and empower themselves in their own training afterwards.
“Coaches Alexandr Maximovich and Natasha Maximovich have tremendous experience running fencing and physical conditioning camps,” explained Irina Chirashnya, founder of Academy of Fencing Masters. “This Winter Fencing Camp is a must to be attended camp for fencers that want to give a boost to their game in the mid season towards 2014 fencing competitions, which include many regional, national and international tournaments.”
The camp starts on December 26 and runs till December 30 including the weekend. The camp training hours are 9am till 4pm, with the drop off available at 8am and pickup at 5pm on each camp day.
The cost of the camp is $495.
Each camper will receive a special AFM Winter Fencing Camp T-shirt.
Registration is open until December 22 midnight.
AFM Winter Fencing Camp is open to AFM members and non-members alike from 8 till 18 years old.
