DJ Jackson, of Team Lloyd Irvin, Returns to the Cage November 9
Camp Springs, MD (PRWEB) November 07, 2013 -- DJ Jackson, the superstar Black belt from Team Lloyd Irvin, looks to improve his amateur MMA record this weekend when he fights Perrin Carter at 165lbs. DJ is a 7-time Jiu Jitsu World Champion, and will look to get the fight to the ground where he can dominate and control.
Master Lloyd Irvin, Jackson’s head coach, believes DJ has serious UFC potential, as long as he can stay focused and follow his instruction and guidelines.
Says Jackson, “I’m very happy to have Master Lloyd Irvin in my corner; he’s a phenomenal coach. Team Lloyd Irvin is my home and I have lots of great teammates and training partners here. This fight will be one of many more to come for me.”
Jackson (Team Lloyd Irvin) will face Perrin Carter who is fighting as an independent.
Just in the last three weeks, Jackson has traveled to compete in the ADCC in Beijing, then to Long Beach, CA to compete in the IBJJF No Gi World Championships. At the No Gi Worlds, DJ placed third in the men's Black belt middleweight division, losing to Vitor Oliveria in the semi-finals. All the travel hasn’t deterred Jackson one bit.
“Doesn’t bother me,” he says. “I’m used to it, and I want to get as much experience as possible, so I go wherever Master Lloyd Irvin thinks I should go to fight, be it MMA or Jiujitsu.”
It should be a very entertaining fight this weekend. Also on the card is Jackson’s fellow teammate from Lloyd Irvin’s, Sijara Eubanks. Eubanks will be fighting Ashley Smallwood for the LOC women’s bantamweight championship belt.
