Vertical Consultants Reveals How Mobile Usage Forecast Affects Cell Tower Lease Value
Nashville, Tennessee (PRWEB) November 07, 2013 -- Cisco Visual Networking Index has predicted that by the end of 2013, the number of mobile devices will surpass the number of people on earth, and by 2017 there will be almost 1.4 mobile devices per capita. Cisco also forecasts that global mobile data traffic will increase 13-fold between 2012 and 2017. Mobile data traffic will reach 11.2 exabytes per month by 2017, growing at a compound annual growth rate of 66 percent from 2012 to 2017.
Since wireless providers must supply the demand for wireless capacity, these providers are dependent upon property owners who are willing to lease their land for cell tower and antenna placement. In addition to site acquisitioning, wireless providers must maintain and secure their current cell sites.
The forecasts provided by Cisco Visual Networking Index provides how cellular phone towers and antennas’ capacity, value, and negotiations related to their placement and their existing cell tower leases play a vital role in the amount and quality of wireless data service available to consumers. Many property owners leasing their land for the placement of telecom equipment do not realize how valuable their land is to the telecom industry, especially in this era of extreme demand for wireless data.
“With this type of growth in mobile usage, there will be a need to maintain current towers facilitating the demands of wireless consumers in addition to implementing new sites across the world. Property owners aren’t being paid correctly for telecom companies’ use of their land, and that is where we step in,” states Hugh Odom, President and Founder of Vertical Consultants.
Vertical Consultants has already become a catalyst for change in the telecom industry, increasing cell tower rents by an average of 142% in 2012, and recovering over 200 years' worth of cell tower rent and expenses, collectively. This is testament to the wide disparities between property owners and telecom companies.
Vertical Consultants, founded in 2010 by Hugh Odom, is comprised of a group of wireless industry veterans with decades of combined experience. Priding itself as the only true landowner advocate, Vertical Consultants handles all aspects of telecom transactions and negotiations on behalf of property owners, from start to finish.
