Louis Berger-led Joint Venture Supports FEMA Disaster Recovery with Housing Inspection Services
Morristown, N.J. (PRWEB) November 07, 2013 -- Vanguard Emergency Management (Vanguard), a joint venture of The Louis Berger Group, Inc. (Louis Berger), Atkins Global and Tidal Basin Government Consulting, has been awarded a contract with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) for housing inspection services, valued at a maximum of $163 million per awardee. Louis Berger will serve as the managing partner.
FEMA will use Vanguard’s housing inspections to confirm damages to houses nationwide affected by a disaster to help the federal government determine the amount of federal aid granted to disaster survivors.
“Vanguard is proud to provide FEMA and Americans with post-disaster inspection services,” said Tom Lewis, senior vice president for Louis Berger’s U.S. Operations. “Our reach of 14,000 professionals and 290 offices in the U.S. will allow a comprehensive response to deliver assessments quickly so families and businesses are able to file claims.”
Vanguard is one of two teams selected under the indefinite quantity, indefinite delivery contract’s one-year base period, which includes the option to extend for another four years.
Vanguard is a strategic partnership that combines the experience and resources of two of the nation’s largest consulting firms—Louis Berger and Atkins—with the expertise of Tidal Basin, a leader in emergency management and homeland security. Vanguard provides infrastructure, engineering, and emergency services to help communities in times of need.
