Persuasive storytelling is the new language of business leadership. Yet, in the world of business publishing, the ability to persuade the reader through real-time interaction with a book’s content has not been a reality – until today. Nancy Duarte and her team at Duarte, Inc. today unveiled a free, significantly enriched version of the award-winning book, Resonate: Present Visual Stories that Transform Audiences, rich with additional interactive content and widgets that allow the reader to fully engage – swiping, listening, playing, reading, sharing and learning.

Duarte is distributing the multimedia version of Resonate in two distinct ways:
1)    Apple’s iBooks Author: Download the book from the Apple iTunes store and view it on your iPad or your desktop with Mavericks iOS
2)    Browser-based: View the book on any browser or device at resonate.duarte.com.

The Resonate Journey
Resonate was originally published in traditional printed book form in September 2010 and was lauded by professionals, academics and communicators globally. The book showed how Duarte’s unique VisualStory™ methodology, which applies storytelling and visual thinking principles to communications, can be used to transform any presentation into an engaging journey, shifting audience beliefs and behaviors. The book spent more than 300 days on Amazon’s list of 100 best-selling business books.

In 2012, Resonate was the first interactive business book built using iBooks Author, a free App available on the Mac App Store that helps publishers create digital books that include video, sound, interactive diagrams, and text functionality. The app enabled readers to experience content not possible on the printed page. Now, for the first time, Resonate Made for iBooks is available for free.

The multimedia version of Resonate is also offered free of charge via the open HTML5 platform. Readers everywhere can experience - on any device or platform – immersive features like Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a dream” speech by listening to the audio, while viewing Nancy’s persuasive story form analysis. Learning more about each concept is made simple, by clicking into case studies, diving deeper into the analysis of each speech, and clicking through the “Director’s Cut” for more insight. Readers are able to consume the content in the way that is most meaningful to them.

Resonate Multimedia Version Features
Both versions include:

  •     Access to 35 director’s cuts, 37 videos, 13 case studies and 8 “sparklines” or music analysis to help the reader better comprehend, learn and put into action the book’s teachings
  •     20 Interactive graphics allow readers to zoom in for more detail and customize their viewing experience
