Greenberg Traurig’s David J. Dykeman to Speak at ACI Conference on Medical Device Agreements

David J. Dykeman, co-chair of the Global Life Sciences & Medical Technology Group of the international law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, will be a featured speaker at the American Conference Institute’s (ACI) 2nd Practical and Tactical Art of the Deal in Medical Device Agreements Conference: M&A, Licensing, Co-Development, and Collaborations. The conference will take place Nov. 19-20, 2013 in Chicago.

Dykeman will serve as a panelist for “How the America Invents Act Has Impacted Licensing and Due Diligence to Date and What to Expect in the Future” on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 from 8:15 – 9:30 am. Attendees will gain valuable insights on how the America Invents Act (AIA) is affecting post-issuance patent challenges, joint research agreements, prior art, trade secrets, combination product patents, and more.

The seasoned faculty — including representatives from Boston Scientific, Medtronic, 3M, Cook Medical, Stryker, Covidien and more — will discuss and share insights on the most pressing issues facing deal makers.

A registered patent attorney with over 17 years of experience in patents, intellectual property, and licensing, Dykeman focuses his practice on securing strategic worldwide intellectual property protection and related business strategy for high-tech clients, with particular expertise in medical devices, life sciences, biotechnology and healthcare IT. In 2012, Dykeman was appointed the founding co-chair of the ABA Section of Science & Technology Law's Medical Device Committee.
