Beholder Productions Produces Sex Education Short Film for PA Middle Schools
Warminster, PA (PRWEB) November 08, 2013 -- After a statewide search, Beholder Productions, a creative agency and film & video production company was awarded the contract to produce a Sex Education Short Film for Pennsylvania Middle School Students. The short film entitled “Just Wait A While” accompanies an Educator Guide and was developed for youth ages 10-14.
As sanctioned by Temple University: Harrisburg and PA Department of Health, Beholder Productions produced “Just Wait A While” in collaboration with Jen May Consulting, a nationally recognized expert in the field of sexuality education, training design, and curriculum development.
The new curriculum intends to educate youth about what abstinence truly is with regard to protecting themselves from unintended pregnancy, HIV, and STIs. The educational short film and guide emphasize that abstinence can be used throughout one’s life, and that it pertains to youth of all sexual orientations, ethnicities, socioeconomic statuses, and races.
“As a mother and community member, I was honored to be a part of this project. I took this task to heart so much, that I personally wrote and produced this film. I hope that students, teachers, and parents can use these materials including the short film to help foster dialogue. We can no longer have an “ostrich head in the sand” mentality when it comes to sex and sexuality with our youth,” explains Emilia Andrews, Chief Operating Officer of Beholder Productions.
Beholder Productions’ services included complete bilingual script writing with 6 separate (yet concurrent) scenes, talent and location scouting, directing over 50 cast members, in-house HD production crew, complete post-production services, and DVD authoring of both English and Spanish versions, all produced in a span of 2-months.
“The turn-around time was like a giant clock ticking away, but we made it happen. We are so thankful to the support of all of the cast and crew; as well as the community support offered by the Hatboro-Horsham School District, Principal Jonathan Kircher of the Keith Valley Middle School; the Hatboro Police Department; the Hatboro Baptist Church, and the community at large. And the greatest thanks to Dr. Jen May of Jen May Consulting for being a part of the selection process and allowing Beholder the opportunity to be a positive impact on our youth,” stated Emilia Andrews.
The new Sex Education Curriculum will be distributed as early as Spring of 2014 to all Pennsylvania Middle Schools.
