R.D. Scinto Installs New Energy-Efficient Lighting on Campus
Shelton, CT (PRWEB) November 07, 2013 -- R.D Scinto has gone green by installing new outdoor lighting on its campus.
The Connecticut-based construction and commercial landlord company said the new lights have reduced the energy consumption of the outdoor luminaries by 60 percent when compared to the previous metal halide and florescent lamps used. The new LED lights also do not contain hazardous materials, such as mercury or lead. The energy savings also reduces carbon dioxide emissions that would have otherwise been emitted when burning fossil fuels for the higher energy consumption of the old lights. The project will reduce annual energy consumption by 467,260 kilowatt hours per year, and eliminate 934,520 pounds of carbon dioxide power plant emissions.
