Carolina Panther J.J. Jansen to be Guest Speaker at YMCA Teen Prayer Breakfast
Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) November 07, 2013 -- To uplift the YMCA’s Mission to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all, Carolina Panther J.J. Jansen will serve as a special guest speaker at the Morrison YMCA’s Teen Prayer Breakfast on November 11. The free event is expected to draw hundreds of teens throughout Greater Charlotte for a unique outreach experience that reinforces the importance of leadership at any age and the power of prayer.
Jansen is expected to candidly share his personal journey of leadership development beginning as a teen and through his experience as a walk-on football player at the University of Notre Dame, reflecting on how those skills continue to enhance his life and NFL career. Along with Jansen, Daniel Fogarty, Executive Director of the Charlotte-based nonprofit, Beds for Kids, will also discuss his personal and professional leadership experience.
This is the third Teen Prayer Breakfast provided through the YMCA of Greater Charlotte, hosted by the Siskey and Morrison YMCAs. “The YMCA Teen Prayer Breakfast offers Charlotte’s youth an opportunity to join together in fellowship while being encouraged to serve as strong leaders in their own communities,” comments Derek White, Senior Program Director at the Morrison YMCA. “We are proud to already have over 200 youth representatives scheduled to attend from church youth groups and YMCA’s in the University, NoDA, Ballantyne, Matthews, Monroe and Lake Norman areas.”
The free event will be held in the gym at the Morrison YMCA from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM. Breakfast will be provided by Terrace Café and participants will have the opportunity to enjoy music from a praise band.
