This Old House Names Maine Heritage Timber to List of 100 Best New Home Products of 2013
Millinocket, ME (PRWEB) November 08, 2013 -- Maine Heritage Timber, New England’s leading source for river-reclaimed timber was named a “2013 TOH Top 100 award winner” by This Old House. The third annual The TOH Top 100 features the 100 best new home products of the year. Maine Heritage Timber’s river-reclaimed wainscoting and trim was one of twelve listed in the 'Finishing Touches' category to receive the honor.
The editors spent months testing to find the most distinct, helpful, and coolest home products in seven categories: Kitchen, Bath, Tools, Building Products, Outdoor Living, Home Tech, and Finishing Touches. Each winning product is also labeled with icons such as Money-Saver, Easy Upgrade, Perfect Solution, Eco-Friendly, Splurge or Made in the USA. Each section includes picks for the most useful apps in each category. A complete list of the “TOH Top 100” can be found in the November/December issue of This Old House and online at http://www.ThisOldHouse.com/top100.
“We are honored to be named to This Old House’s list of best new home products for 2013,” said Tom Shafer, co-founder and owner of Maine Heritage Timber. “As a smaller business that’s fairly new to the industry, we’re thrilled to see our unique products receive this type of recognition.”
“The 2013 TOH Top 100 is full of products that showcase ingenuity, demonstrate originality, wow us with their functionality, and of course, mark breakthroughs in their categories,” says This Old House Editor Scott Omelianuk.
“However, the true test for any item on this list is simple: Is it useful and relevant to our readers? We agree that all these new products, in ways large and small, will improve the lives of our readers,” Omelianuk adds.
The 2013 list marks the third annual “The TOH Top 100” and includes items for people who love houses new or old and are looking for the newest ways to fix them up.
About Maine Heritage Timber
Maine Heritage Timber, located in Millinocket, offers an exquisitely rare variety of custom flooring, millwork, furniture, and wainscoting materials. These high-quality wood products are created using sunken virgin growth timber lost to Maine’s Penobscot River during the logging gold rush and have been preserved under nature’s cover for over 100 years. Maine Heritage Timber carefully reclaims this limited supply of logs in order to yield exquisite wood products of the utmost quality that are truly available nowhere else. Maine Heritage Timber preserves 1000 acres of timberland annually from being cut and assists in the revival of an otherwise dormant ecosystem. The company’s wood products have been sought after by some of the nation’s most successful businesses, including LL Bean, Sugarloaf Ski Resorts, The River Drivers Restaurant and Florida’s Moxie Kitchen + Cocktails. Maine Heritage Timber’s classic, river-reclaimed timber products are available for purchase via phone (207-723-9200) and online at http://www.maineheritagetimber.com.
