Singles' Day (11/11) Becoming A Global Shopping Holiday
California (PRWEB) November 11, 2013 -- Have you heard of Singles' Day, which takes place on 11/11?
Singles' Day has grown into China's (and possibly the world's) busiest online shopping day. Singles’ Day sales at Alibaba, the China's largest e-commerce company, are expected to rise 50 percent to exceed 30 billion yuan ($4.9 billion). Also, China-based Tmall.com did over $1 billion in revenue in the first hour alone. Almost every Chinese shopping website and local store has released 11/11 offers in order to attract customers. This year, several U.S. merchants have decided to offer Singles' Day promotions as well.
Over 30 top brands and merchants are combining their 11/11 promotion efforts on deal site Dealmoon.com. Brands include Estée Lauder, Clinique, PUMA, Newegg, Elizabeth Arden, Peter Thomas Roth, Perfumania, Bobbi Brown, Ashford, Monster Products, and many others. Some of these merchants are even creating offers as good as their Black Friday offers. Examples include Peter Thomas Roth's Un-Wrinkle Turbo Serum or Laser-Free Resurfacer for only $20, Elizabeth Arden's 25% off and extra 8 piece gift set with $59 purchase, Estee Lauder's 5 deluxe samples with $50 purchase, and Monster Products' free DNA in-ear headphones (a $109 value) with purchase of their limited edition Gold Diamond Tears Headphones (an offer which has never been available in the past). Sites such as Ashford.com have mentioned that they "have prepared some killer deals for this event!"
