The plaintiff also claims that she had windstorm insurance coverage with Texas Windstorm Insurance Association but that the insurer did not properly look into her claim or properly evaluate the damages caused to her home. The complaint also alleges that Texas Windstorm Insurance Association provided the plaintiff with an insufficient amount of money to fix the damages.
According to court documents, the Jefferson County resident is claiming a breach of contract, a breach of good faith and fair dealing, and violations of the Texas Insurance Code and Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. She is claiming punitive damages in addition to regular damages.
