Weintraub Films Picks Up Script "Socialized", Where A Social Media Stalker Becomes A College Campuses Worst Nightmare
New York, NY (PRWEB) November 15, 2013 -- New York based Weintraub Films announces the pick up of screenplay, "Socialized" a thriller/horror written by Stephen Ross Meier.
Los Angeles based Meier: "Here you have millions upon millions of people that use Facebook everyday. They post and share everything, seemingly unaware that not everyone has good intentions and/or is really their "friend."
"Socialized" highlights Facebook as it becomes a stalkers best friend. An innocent young college co-ed realizes she is being stalked after a series of disturbing photos are posted on her Facebook wall.
Craig Weintraub, President of Weintraub Films, was intrigued by the story. "There is a daily relationship our society has with social media, that has yet to be explored. Stephen's story takes us on a ride that leaves us thinking long after it is over."
Meier was deeply interested at the idea of exploring Facebook on a college campus, and the psychological terror that it can breed. Meier expressed enthusiastically, "I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with this. Craig's passion for film is unmatched and his commitment and dedication to success is refreshing."
Weintraub Films was founded in 1992 with the financing of Columbia Pictures "Murdered Innocence". In 2010, Weintraub Films relaunched, concentrating on all phases of production, with the award winning comedy "Uncle Melvin's Apartment." 2013 saw the release of superstorm Sandy Documentary "Surge".
Weintraub Films has an upcoming slate with five releases over the next 36 months.
