Sacramento, California (PRWEB) November 11, 2013 -- shopesto, a social shopping network devoted to connecting the world’s merchants to shoppers, launches today. shopesto’s mission is to make shopping locally simple, easy, and fun. shopesto (which means “shop this”) is focused on helping shoppers find local shops and products to buy with in-store pickup or local delivery.
“Although e-commerce has grown tremendously over the past 10 years, 95% of all retail sales still happen in a physical store. shopesto seeks to capitalize on the growth in mobile usage to influence online to offline buying activity and capitalize on the growth in social commerce to be the go to mobile social shopping companion,” stated Geoff Sakala, CEO of shopesto.
Just in time for the holiday shopping season, this first release of shopesto allows shoppers to locate shopping centers and mark their favorites. Going forward, regular updates will be frequently rolled out to users, allowing them to search and favorite stores, brands, products, and sales, and plan shopping trips which can be shared with friends and family.
“The vision for shopesto is to be your social shopping companion,” says Sakala. “It’s where you’ll find out about interesting shopping centers, new shops, inspiration for gift ideas, and be able to share it all with your friends and family from any device.”
Shoppers will also be able to create collections of their favorite places to shop, brands they love, products they want to buy, and more. These collections can be saved as wish lists for special occasions such as a birthday, wedding, graduation, or Christmas.
“Our target audience for shopesto also includes shopping center operators and their merchants. We are currently seeking personal shoppers, fashion stylists, and bloggers as influencers to spread the word about the platform,” says Sakala. “We are already working with a number of major shopping center operators and shopping districts, known as business improvement districts (BIDS), across California and seeking further partnerships across the US.”
Future plans include adding indoor mapping, product price checking with price drop alerts, mobile merchant coupons and store loyalty programs.
