Houston, TX (PRWEB) November 11, 2013
1. Highest bill: Houston, TX at $138.96
2. Lowest bill: Chicago, IL at $44.16
3. Largest Month over Month (MOM) increase: Los Angeles, CA from $58.75 to $66.93
4. Largest MOM decrease: Dallas, TX from $197.15 to $132.21
The city with the highest bill for October was Houston, TX at $138.96. This is typical for Houston, as mildly warm temperatures carry through October. Houston will start to see cooler temperatures through the month of November reducing their monthly electricity bill. The greatest increase in monthly bill was Los Angeles, CA from $58.75 in September to $66.93 in October. This slight increase was due to the warm temperatures holding steady in October.
Once again Chicago, IL had the lowest bill at $44.16 in October. This was mostly due to the cooler temperatures Chicago has sustained for most of October. Dallas, TX saw the greatest decrease, which was a decrease of $64.94 compared to its September average bill. This is primarily due to temperatures decreasing as the fall season enters that region.
1. Highest bill: New York, NY at $61.04
2. Lowest bill: Dallas, TX at $17.92
3. Largest MOM increase: Philadelphia, PA from $13.02 to $41.59
4. Smallest MOM increase: Dallas, TX from $17.83 to $17.92
As we saw last month, New York, NY once again had the highest natural gas bill at $61.04 in October. Indianapolis was a close runner up at $57.72. This is a normal trend from a year over year perspective and should continue for the next few months.
Dallas, TX had the lowest natural gas bill at $17.92 for the month of October. The need for natural gas remained steady for that region. As the winter season continues, we should see most of the northern region’s natural gas rates increase. As a result, this should help the southern states reclaim the lowest natural gas bill in the country.
The city that saw the largest month over month increase was Philadelphia, PA, from $13.02 to $41.59. This major increase was due to cold temperatures sweeping that region for most of October.
Dallas, TX had the smallest month over month increase from $17.83 in September to $17.92 in October. This is not that significant as the increase was minor. As fall approaches, temperatures will continue to drop in the northern regions, ultimately increasing the need for natural gas.
