Waypoint Homes Launches Holiday Food Bank Promotion
Oakland, CA (PRWEB) November 12, 2013 -- Waypoint Homes, a leader in the single family home rental industry, today announced a promotion to benefit local food banks in areas where the company has a footprint. For each “move in” to a Waypoint home during November and December, the company will donate $25 to a local food bank. The company will also match employee gifts up to $25 per employee during these months.
“We did this for the first time last year, and even though we were much smaller, we distributed more than $5,000 to local food banks," said Gary Beasley, co-CEO. “We’ve grown significantly, so we look forward to making a larger contribution.” Doug Brien, co-CEO, added, “One of the things that makes Waypoint unique is the time and effort we’ve put in to building local teams, with close ties to the communities they serve. Many of our resident service centers are also running coat drives or other programs alongside our company program, and we’re proud of that.”
Larry Sly, executive director of the Food Bank of Contra Costa and Solano, the area where Waypoint Homes got its start, said, “With the recent cuts to the Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Programs, food banks all over the U.S. are anticipating more demand for assistance this holiday season. It’s a big help when companies like Waypoint throw their support behind our efforts to feed our communities.”
Waypoint Homes works with local realtors and contractors in the regions where it operates to purchase, renovate, and rent single-family homes. Residents can take advantage of the company’s trademarked Lease Plus Rewards® program, earning points during their lease term for paying their rent on time and maintaining their home. At the end of the lease term, they can convert their “Waypoints” to free rent, cash or even a cruise.
The food banks Waypoint is supporting through this promotion are just a few of the hundreds around the country. Find your local food bank at http://feedingamerica.org/foodbank-results.aspx.
