Malvern, PA (PRWEB) November 12, 2013
HMP Communications Holdings, LLC, a leader in healthcare communications and education, is proud to announce the launch of the Interdisciplinary Autoimmune Summit (IAS), a revolutionary new initiative that brings together experts and specialists across the autoimmune disease spectrum for two and a half days of learning, networking, and collaborating. The first-of-its-kind, national interdisciplinary meeting will take place at The Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, NV from June 20-22, 2014.
Building off the success and reputation of HMP brands, the Coalition of Rheumatology Educators (CORE) and The Dermatologist, IAS was developed to identify and address the emerging learning and collaborative care gaps between the rheumatology, dermatology, and gastroenterology audiences, shedding collective light on the ever-changing pathophysiology, cellular treatment, and care pathways of autoimmune diseases.
The 2.5-day conference and exhibition will feature a variety of CE-accredited educational sessions led by top experts, which will provide practical and targeted education on relevant autoimmune topics including, but not limited to:
“As an industry leader in multi-channel healthcare communications and education, the IAS initiative reinforces our commitment to delivering impactful, game-changing content of the highest quality,” said Jeff Hennessy, chairman and chief executive officer, HMP Communications Holdings. “IAS attendees will break new ground in this evolving area of care, as experts and specialists from across the autoimmune disease spectrum collaborate in a new educational format, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes."
IAS will seek to illuminate for its attendees the pathophysiology of immune-mediated chronic inflammatory diseases and outline the benefits and limitations of new and emerging immunosuppressive, anti-inflammatory, and disease-modifying treatments. Faculty will focus on developing collaborative care efforts that improve cross-specialty communications and the management of patients with multiple manifestations of autoimmune disease.
“With many autoimmune diseases having systemic and multi-organ system involvement, it’s vitally important to have an interdisciplinary approach to pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment,” said Dr. Neal S. Birnbaum, IAS steering committee member, clinical professor of medicine, University of California, San Francisco, and Director, Division of Rheumatology, California Pacific Medical Center.
Accredited by HMP Communications Holdings subsidiary, North American Center for Continuing Medical Education, LLC (NACCME), IAS offers participants the opportunity to earn up to 20 CME/CE credits.
