Greenberg Traurig Miami Co-Managing Shareholder Jaret L. Davis Named 2013 Legal ‘Professional of the Year’ by ICABA

Jaret L. Davis, co-managing shareholder of the Miami office of international law firm Greenberg Traurig, has been named the 2013 legal “Professional of the Year” by ICABA, an organization dedicated to recognizing and supporting black professionals. The organization honored Davis at a recent black tie gala at Florida International University celebrating South Florida’s most accomplished blacks.

“I am honored to have been selected for this recognition from among so many qualified candidates, and I am grateful to be involved with such a prestigious organization that makes a meaningful impact on the black professional community,” Davis said.

In his role as co-managing shareholder at the Greenberg Traurig Miami office, Davis oversees approximately 160 attorneys and 200 business staff members based in the firm’s founding office. A shareholder in the firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group focusing on domestic and international transactions within the mergers and acquisitions, capital markets and credit markets arenas, Davis has represented numerous companies with an industry focus on the IT and health care/biotech sectors.

In addition to his achievements in the field of law, Davis is also noted for his commitment to support a greater good. He generously donates his time to numerous nonprofit and community organizations that are making a difference locally and nationwide. His current community involvement includes: Chair, University of Miami School of Law, Dean's Circle; Board Member, City Year, Board of Directors; Board Member, Friends of Little River, Board of Directors; Vice Chairman, Miami Children's Hospital, Board of Directors; Board Member, SEED Foundation, South Florida Division, Board of Trustees; and Member, American Diabetes Association, Income Development Committee.

He has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career. Davis graduated from the University of Miami with a law degree, magna cum laude, in 1999 and a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in economics in 1996.
