The Energy Star certification, which we have now earned for two consecutive years, is a testament to the quality of our people and how they monitor, manage and maintain the facility.

Cosentry, the leading provider of Midwest data center services, announced today that they have once again been awarded with Energy Star Certification for the Omaha-Midlands Data Center, located in Omaha, NE. The Omaha-Midlands Data Center was built to meet high security requirements and 100% availability requirements while maintaining highly efficient energy usage, and was the first Midwestern data center to earn Energy Star certification in 2012.

"The Omaha-Midlands Data Center in Papillion, NE is our flagship property. The investments we have made in the power and cooling infrastructure make it one of the premier destinations for colocation and hosting services in the Midwest. The Energy Star certification, which we have now earned for two consecutive years, is a testament to the quality of our people and how they monitor, manage and maintain the facility," said Jason Black, Vice President of Data Center Services with Cosentry. "We do this not for the awards but more so to deliver an extremely high quality of service to our customers which has the added benefit of energy conservation. We are proud to have earned the Energy Star certification and trust our customers will appreciate our efficient use of natural resources while delivering high quality data center services."

The Omaha-Midlands Data Center maintains its high level of energy efficiency with a combination of world-class design and the execution of best practices for data center operation. The data center makes use of three season "free cooling" by leveraging the cool Midwestern climate. Additionally, Cosentry has invested in powerful monitoring and operational equipment that keeps energy usage low.

The announcement comes during a time of expansion for the Omaha-Midlands data center, as it has recently doubled the usable raised floor space in order to meet high client demand for secure colocation and cloud facilities. Commission of the new Omaha-Midlands suite was completed and ready for clients as planned on October 1, 2013.
