Climate Change Causing Increased Air Pollution Warns White Paper

Report by DeWayne Cecil, PhD, for Bio Logic Aqua Founder Sharon Kleyne Predicts Lessening of Atmosphere’s Ability to Cleanse Itself.

Satellite observations over the last 40 years suggest a trend towards increasing atmospheric temperatures in the middle latitudes. Since higher temperatures cause surface water to evaporate at a faster rate, the initial result is increased humidity. Increased humidity increases the air’s ability to hold contaminants and pollutants. That was one of the conclusions in a recent White Paper by Climatologist DeWayne Cecil, PhD, for a study team sponsored by Sharon Kleyne’s Bio Logic Aqua Research. Both Cecil and Kleyne believe that this global threat to air quality will have a substantial impact on human health and dehydration diseases.

The study team’s objective, according to Kleyne and Cecil, is research and education regarding changes in atmospheric water content, including fresh water vapor and precipitation, and their potential and observed impacts on human health. The intent is to stimulate discussions of the impact of climatic variation with the goal of improving the ability of humans to live with and adapt to a changing atmosphere.

DeWayne Cecil, PhD, has had a distinguished career as a Climatologist in academic, government and private research settings. He has been employed as a researcher for the USGS Water Resources Discipline, the NASA Earth Observation Satellite program, Director of NOAA’a Western Region Climate Services and most recently, Chief Climatologist for Global Science and Technology, Inc. of Ashville, NC.

Sharon Kleyne is Founder of Bio-Logic Aqua Research, a fresh water and health research, education and product development center. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, the company’s global signature product, provides a pure all-water mist to instantly replenish the water in dehydrated eyes and skin. Kleyne also hosts the globally syndicated Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water® radio show on VoiceAmerica and Apple iTunes.

According to Dr. Cecil, with increased atmospheric temperatures and a decrease in available fresh water at the Earth’s surface, the concentration of contaminant in water supplies and water vapor are on the increase. These processes affect the quality and availability of fresh water in surface reservoirs and ground water aquifers.

The Earth’s atmosphere, Cecil explains, can hold more water vapor as air temperatures increase. However, with an associated increase in emissions from contaminants through fossil fuel burning, this larger amount of water vapor will be potentially contaminated and can in and of itself threatened human health.

Warmer temperatures, according to Kleyne, increase the rate of surface evaporation and also increase the amount of water vapor the air can hold. Since carbon particulates and other pollutants have the ability to attract and attach water, the result is air that is more polluted than it would be at lower temperatures.

When water vapor attaches to pollution and other airborne particles, says Kleyne, the vapor tends to drop to the ground before it can rise to the upper atmosphere and form clouds and raindrops. The result is an ultimate decrease in humidity, drier air and less rainfall. Both Cecil and Kleyne are deeply concerned about the resulting health issues.

The products Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® and Nature’s Mist® Face of the Water® skin moisture were developed by Sharon Kleyne’s Bio-Logic Aqua Research to supplement skin and eye moisture lost as a result of increased surface water evaporation from dry and polluted air.
