Duke’s Chowder House Gives Away Complimentary Award Winning Chowder to Benefit Seattle Veteran’s Hospital on Nov 12th on International Chowder Day
Seattle, WA (PRWEB) November 11, 2013 -- On November 12th from 11 am to 10 pm, all six locations of Duke’s Chowder House will be giving away small bowls of their renowned All Natural New England Clam Chowder in order to celebrate International Chowder Day, as well as acknowledge the efforts of all Veteran’s. On this special day, Duke’s will raise money and awareness to benefit Seattle Veteran’s Hospital, a part of the VA Puget Sound Health Care System.
Duke Moscrip and son and business partner, John Moscrip, are pleased to share their signature specialty with Chowder enthusiasts and veterans alike who are sure to attend this heart-felt event. Duke’s will share all of the profits from the promotional sales of the day on November 12. He says, he chose to donate this year to the Seattle Veteran’s Hospital because "it is the right thing to do."
A restaurateur for more than 40 years, Duke’s dad was a veteran who served 35 years in the Navy. Duke’s dad (the Original Duke) was a Navy pilot in World War II and he barely survived an airplane accident when he flew into a mountain in a thunderstorm during training in Phoenix, Arizona. Unfortunately, his co-pilot was not so lucky and did not survive.
Veteran's Hospitals got him back to function normally. Duke says, "Thank God and bless the doctors at Seattle's Veteran's Hospital for helping my father to heal. My heart goes out to each and every veteran." "The Veteran’s Hospital Mission Statement is "To fulfill President Lincoln’s promise to care for him who shall have borne the battle . . . " They certainly fulfilled that mission for my dad.
