Grammar App a Hit at Apple iTunes Store- Hilarious Grammar App Featured by Apple in "Best New Apps"
Kelowna, BC (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- Last week, Mathtoon's app, "Grammar Fun!!" was featured by Apple as one of the "Best New Apps" in Education. Two weeks after hitting the app stores, its popularity is growing at 700%.
"We're thrilled with our rapid growth and the number of students and teachers who are playing and sharing our apps worldwide," says CEO, Kristin Garn.
After developing several math apps, Mathtoons discovered there was a huge demand for apps that develop English skills. "We have a large following from Indonesia, India and Brazil and a lot of our students were asking for help practicing their English," says Garn.
The "Grammar Fun!!" app offers a free quiz game for high school and college students to increase their English proficiency. The popularity of the app is partly due to its surprising and offbeat humour.
Garn explains, "We decided to stray from the usual academic path and added a lot of jokes and animation to liven it up for kids who need some grammar practice."
Most apps for education are geared toward children under six years, but Mathtoons is turning that trend around. "It's very unique to have a learning app for high school and college kids featured at iTunes," adds Garn.
Garn attributes their fast growth to the popularity of mobile devices for learning. "Worldwide, as classrooms adopt more iPads and allow more students to use their own devices in class, we see a huge potential for quality educational apps in the future."
Mathtoons is planning more grammar practice apps and mobile math games to be released during the Christmas season.
