Zaki Allal, a young pianist and composer born in North Africa, Algeria will be holding his world premiere at the Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, New York on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 | 8 PM.
Mr. Allal, who is a physician by training, brings together medicine and music, using his piano compositions for therapy and relaxation. Considering himself a citizen of the world, his unique personal story as a passionate and perseverant traveler led him from Algeria to Spain, from the UK to the U.S. He shares stories of birth and death, happiness and sadness, and war and peace.
Zaki released his first album titled “Celestial” in July 2012 and is already working on his second album with an accomplished multi-platinum and Grammy nominated record producer.
Richard Byrne, making a guest appearance, is the warm-up comedian for The Dr. Oz Show will be warming-up the audience before the concert. Traditionally Richie has performed at over 500 shows a year for audiences of all ages. Richie's television appearances include ComedyCentral’s “Premium Blend,” VH1’s “Stand-Up Spotlight” and “The Rosie O’Donnell Show.” As an actor, Richie has been seen on “The Sopranos,” “Sex In The City” and “Law and Order.” "The Richie Byrne Show" is a live off-Broadway musical-comedy production in New York City which has benefited both HealthCorps® and The ComedyCures Foundation.
Lawrence Sherman, a global medical educator and former stand-up comedian, will introduce the evening. Lawrence will present the story of each composition and will be interacting with Zaki.
