New Window Genie Franchise Opens in Sebastian on November 18th

Window Genie announces the grand opening of its newest location in Sebastian, FL on Monday November 18th. Steve Shurmatz is the owner/operator of the business that will service the Vero Beach area. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the Sebastian Chamber of Commerce located at 700 Main Street in Sebastian on Friday the 15th.
Before joining the Window Genie team, Shurmatz was a sales executive for a payment processing company. After years of doing extremely well and eventually becoming the company's best salesman, Shurmatz' position was eliminated. "It left a bad taste in my mouth. To be doing the best I could and performing at a high level, it definitely hurt to get laid off," he said.
Shurmatz decided to explore business ownership. "I couldn't stomach the thought of going back to work for someone else and having the same thing happen. I wanted something I couldn't get fired from and business ownership certainly fit that bill," Shurmatz said.
"My strengths are in business development and sales, as well as talking with customers and networking. I knew I needed to explore franchising so I could concentrate on those strengths while having a support system so others could take care of things like back end office work," Shurmatz said. "I didn't want to reinvent the wheel, nor did I think I would have the time or money to start a business from scratch, so purchasing a franchise was the best choice."
Window Genie found Shurmatz through career builder where he had posted a resume, and he was sent information. "As silly as it sounds, I saw the Genie and it was love at first sight," Shurmatz said. "The logo prompted me to look at the website, explore the opportunity and learn more."
Ultimately, Shurmatz chose to purchase a Window Genie franchise because he felt he had found the best opportunity to be successful and happy. He spoke to existing Window Genie franchise owners before making his decision and he said, "they were all incredibly happy with their ability to balance work and life while making a living. They all reassured me that if I followed the system, I could be as successful as I wanted to be." Shurmatz was also excited to find a business that offered such a variety of necessary, affordable services. "There's something for everybody, I think my business has a lot to offer my community. I'm excited to get out there and start building customer relationships. Window Genie being a repeat business is great because I get a chance to work with people in my community time and time again, performing different services that will add to the look and value of their homes. Vero Beach is so beautiful, it doesn't make sense for my neighbors to be looking through dirty windows." Shurmatz also noted that, "If I wasn't already sold, I certainly was after meeting the corporate staff via Skype. It was important to me that I find a support team I could trust but also have fun working with. I think I've found everything I wanted in Window Genie."
Shurmatz officially opens for business on Monday November 18th. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place at the Sebastian Chamber of Commerce on Friday November 15th at 1:00pm.
