ScaleArc Launches New Database Traffic Management Platform on AWS Marketplace at AWS re:Invent 2013
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) November 12, 2013 -- ScaleArc today announced the launch of a new version of its iDB database traffic management platform on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) Marketplace, along with lower pricing and 24x7 support included with all offerings. iDB 3.0 will be available in two editions, Enterprise Edition and Platinum Edition. ScaleArc iDB is a new type of database traffic management software that increases the performance and availability of mission-critical applications and websites by optimizing and scaling the database tier. AWS re:Invent attendees will be the first to see how the new release, which transparently inserts into MySQL environments in AWS (including Amazon RDS), immediately boosts scalability, performance and availability of database clusters, including database load balancing, sharding and Disaster Recovery across Availability zones. These updates to iDB also deliver a new set of real-time analytics that can reduce troubleshooting times from days or hours to minutes.
“ScaleArc has been working with AWS over the past two years, and these new releases add significant value for our joint customers,” said Terry Hanold, Vice President, Cloud Commerce, AWS. “These latest releases enhance customers’ ability to migrate their database environments to the AWS cloud without concerns around scale, performance, or availability.”
The new releases provide the following benefits to the AWS community:
• comprehensive REST API enabling complete automation of iDB management and monitoring
• more granular analytics that can pinpoint problems down to specific hosts, queries and users in real-time, to reduce troubleshooting times and improve capacity planning
• for the Platinum Edition:
▪ the ability to provide Auto Failover capabilities for higher redundancy and availability of MySQL/RDS clusters
▪ transparent query routing and sharding capabilities for MySQL/RDS clusters
“These key platform enhancements to iDB enable customers to take advantage of the benefits of Amazon RDS and database instances in AWS,” said Justin Barney, CEO of ScaleArc. “We continue to improve the performance, scalability, and availability of our customers’ databases, and our support for AWS is critical to allowing customers to gain the operational benefits of migrating to the cloud without compromising system performance.”
The complete range of ScaleArc iDB solutions for AWS can be found on the AWS Marketplace at https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace.
