Carl Riley has joined the international law firm Greenberg Traurig LLP, as a shareholder in its Real Estate Investment Trusts (REIT) and Tax practices in New York. Prior to joining Greenberg Traurig, Riley practiced at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York.

Riley regularly advises clients on an array of complex tax matters, with particular emphasis on transactions involving REITs. At Greenberg Traurig, Riley will be representing public REIT clients in connection with their transactions and ongoing SEC compliance, as well as handling tax aspects of securities offerings and other transactions involving private REITs, investment funds and joint ventures.

“Carl is a strong asset for our active practice,” said Judith D. Fryer, co-chair of Greenberg Traurig’s REIT Practice. “Throughout his more than 20 years providing expert counsel, he consistently demonstrates top-notch service for clients. We welcome him to the firm.”

“Our team of attorneys regularly advises clients on some of the most dynamic and complex real estate matters in the country,” added Robert J.
