National Fiber's New Innovative Insul-Cubes Outperform Conventional Rim Joist Insulations
Belchertown, MA (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- National Fiber’s patent-pending Insul-Cube™ is fast becoming the product of choice for rim joists and other areas where superior thermal performance is needed. The Insul-Cube is a cube shaped product, that is filled on-site with cellulose, and installed in the rim joist. The material is a class A/1 fire rated product that can be left exposed. The Insul-Cube makes insulating the rim joist quick and easy reducing labor and clean up.
The Insul-Cube is primarily filled in the truck eliminating dust or clean up on the inside of the house. The cube can then be brought into the house and friction fit into the rim joist. The cubes are 17”x13”x13” and many rim joists are 16” o.c. and 9 ½” wide. This means a fully filled Insul-Cube will fit tightly into place. Because the Insul-Cube is flat on all sides, it fits perfectly into the corners and against the surfaces to form a tight fit.
The advantage of the larger size of the Insul-Cube is that it allows an installer to form it around obstructions like wires and pipes. In fact, you don’t have to fill the Insul-Cube up all the way. Partially filling them allows you fit smaller areas and form fit them better. In areas where the joists are 24” o.c., the cubes can be turned sideways and doubled up.
During our testing, we found the Insul-Cubes very quick to fill and install. The Insul-Cubes fills in approximately 15 seconds and installs in 5 seconds. Better yet, when we brought out the blower door and IR camera, we were amazed at the results. The thermal superiority of the Insul-Cube is what really makes the difference. Fully filled, the Insul-Cube is an R-49. Many other insulations, in this application, are typically R-14 to R-20 at best.
Insul-Cubes are now available for purchase online! Visit http://www.Insul-Cube.com for all Technical and MSDS information. Insul-Cubes are available in boxes of 200 each. A box of Insul-Cubes will typically do 1 large house or 2 smaller houses. One contractor stated, “I was weary of trying such a simple product, but when I did, the Insul-Cubes are a huge time saver that it saved me not only time on the job but money as well. If you have not tried them yet, do yourself a favor and try them out. Your wallet will be glad you did.” For more info about the performance tests and data sheets, visit http://www.Insul-Cube.com.
