ShopRite Makes Annual Donation of Holiday Turkeys
Keasbey, NJ (PRWEB) November 12, 2013 -- Fighting hunger in the community is at the very heart of ShopRite’s charitable giving. In the past ten years, ShopRite Partners In Caring, a year round hunger-fighting initiative, has donated more than 700,000 pounds of frozen turkeys to food banks in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Delaware, Pennsylvania and Maryland. This year’s record donation of 40 tons of turkeys has already been loaded on ShopRite trucks and is on its way to local food banks.
“Hunger is a year round problem for many of our neighbors in the communities we serve. Helping families enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner is something that we at ShopRite are truly thankful for,” said Christine Magyarits, spokeswoman for ShopRite Partners In Caring. “With the help of our partners at the food banks, we are able to touch so many lives each year and it is our hope that these turkeys make the holidays a little brighter for our neighbors in need.”
