Johnson & Johnson Offer Two Settlement Deals for the DePuy ASR Hip Replacements
(PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- October was an encouraging month for patients who have filed complaint against Johnson & Jonson’s DePuy ASR hip replacements. With only days before Johnson & Johnson was supposed to have their day in court, it appears that they have agreed to settle multiple cases, according to reports from AboutLawsuits.com. Earlier in October, Robert Eugene Ottoman (Robert Eugene Ottman v. Johnson & Johnson Services Inc. et al, CGC-12-517391; Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco) was scheduled to face Johnson & Johnson over his allegations that his hip implant caused complications that resulted in him needing re-visionary surgery, but days before the trial it was reported that Johnson & Johnson had offered a settlement. Just a few weeks later, when Debora MacDonald (Debora MacDonald v. Johnson & Johnson Services Inc. et al, BER-L-1856-12; Superior Court of New Jersey, Bergen County) was supposed to present her case to the courts, she was also offered a settlement. Although the details of both settlements have been kept under wraps, the fact that Johnson & Johnson has been willing to offer a deal is very encouraging for some of the 11,500 product liability lawsuits that have been filed.
“The fact that Johnson & Johnson is offering settlements on these two cases is very encouraging for many plaintiffs,” explained Josh Parilman Esq. of Parilman and Associates. Johnson & Johnson offered a $3 billion dollar settlement in August of 2013, according to Bloomberg News. If most of the plaintiffs accept this deal they could be looking at receiving upwards of $300,000 for their alleged injuries.
Based on early results of these trials, if you or a loved one believes that they have been affected by a DePuy ASR hip replacement, they should contact a personal injury law firm like Parilman and Associates. “The only way we can help these people is if they come forward,” explained Parilman Esq. Many product liability law firms are representing cases involving the DePuy ASR hip replacements and are eager to aid patients as they seek out any retribution that may be owed to them.
Since 2008, Parilman and Associates has been providing stellar legal counsel for people who have been injured from negligent, reckless actions and prescribed medications and products. With co-counsel offices all over the United States eager to help you get started on the road to recovery.
