The Gardens at Town Square and the University of Washington (UW) School of Pharmacy present “With Age Comes Wisdom, but What About Diabetes?” The lecture with UW School of Pharmacy Chair and Professor, Dr. Peggy Odegard takes place Thursday, November 14th at 1:30pm at The Gardens at Town Square, 933 111th Avenue NE, Bellevue, WA 98004. Dr. Odegard will present research-proven strategies to prevent diabetes for those at risk, discuss effective diabetes control strategies for those who have it, and provide direction for healthcare support for those with diabetes.
Dr. Odegard earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Washington in 1990. She is a Certified Diabetes Educator, working in diabetes education for over 20 years. She practices pharmacy in an interdisciplinary diabetes care clinic and provides community-based education on aging to older adults.
The Gardens at Town Square and its parent company, Era Living have a long-standing partnership with the UW School of Pharmacy, and are proud to provide residents with the UW Pharmacy Cares: “Ask a Pharmacist” program at The Gardens at Town Square.
UW Pharmacy Cares is a consulting pharmacy through the UW School of Pharmacy that offers education and support to help promote the healthy and safe use of medicines. Pharmacists are UW faculty who specialize in medication therapy management and care. Through a partnership with Era Living, UW Pharmacy Cares pharmacists are available to meet with residents of The Gardens at Town Square with the goal of making recommendations that can result in positive health and overall improvement in well-being.
