ACN Unites with Heroes of the Hardwood and of the Community for a Worthwhile Cause
Concord, NC (PRWEB) November 13, 2013 -- ACN, Inc., the world’s largest direct seller of telecommunications, energy and essential services for home and business – donned their black tie attire and laced up their tennis shoes in support of the Cats Care 2013 My Hero Gala. The annual event was hosted by the Cats Care Foundation, the NBA Charlotte Bobcats’ non-profit organization. By making a sizable donation of $25,000, ACN, Inc. was a top sponsor of the city’s most unique fundraiser.
The evening brought together heroes of the hardwood with heroes from the Charlotte community for an unforgettable evening of entertainment and celebration. Guests in their finest – and tennis shoes – flooded the blue carpet, participated in a best sneaker contest, perused incredible silent auction items, enjoyed a delicious dinner, and saw local heroes recognized throughout the evening.
Proceeds from the My Hero Gala support two important organizations: the Novant Health Community Care Cruiser, which delivers quality healthcare to youth in underserved communities across the Charlotte area, and Cats Care Foundation, with its commitment to education, wellness and the fight against hunger.
In addition, the Charlotte chapter of Big Brothers Big Sisters teamed up with the Bobcats to kick off the evening. Six “Littles” escorted Bobcats team members onto the stage during player introductions, welcoming them with a handshake, hug or high five. ACN is a regular supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters, and several of the “Littles” who participated are partnered with “Bigs” who work for ACN.
“Not only is this event always a lot of fun,” said Co-Founder of ACN Robert Stevanovski. “But it also benefits great causes very close to our hearts. We believe in the power of being a good corporate citizen, and any chance we have to give back to our community is certainly our privilege.”
