Football season is a time to celebrate for many Army and Air Force football fans, but for PenFed (Pentagon Federal Credit Union) member Michelle Wood from Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y., a chance entry into the PenFed co-sponsored “Army vs. Air Force” sweepstakes turned into an even greater cause for celebration when it was announced she won the grand prize.
As this year’s sweepstakes grand prize winner, Wood enjoyed roundtrip air transportation, hotel accommodations and game day tickets for two to the November 2, 2013, Colorado Springs, Colo., Army at Air Force football game.
"I was surprised and excited when I found out I held the grand prize winning entry," said Michelle Wood. "I have never won a contest before, and it was an absolute thrill to be able to travel to Colorado Springs and attend the game. Thanks, PenFed!"
The Army Sports Properties and PenFed sponsored “Army vs. Air Force” sweepstakes ran July 25 through October 12, 2013. There were six sweepstakes winners chosen altogether; five runner-ups and one grand prize winner.
“We would like to thank Army Sports Properties for their sponsorship role in the 'Army vs. Air Force' sweepstakes. It is a real pleasure to be a part of an exciting campaign that is a win-win for everyone involved," said Monica Brooks, manager of West Point branches at PenFed. “We would also like to extend our congratulations to our member and grand prize winner Michelle Wood; we hope you enjoyed the game!”
More than 1,700 sweepstakes entries were submitted, either through online channels, or at the PenFed game day display booth located on Black Knights Alley at Michie Stadium. A local Army football fan, Wood submitted her winning entry into the sweepstakes at PenFed’s display booth while attending a home game.
