Interior Obsession Selected to Design a Room in DHI's 2013 Greystone Show House in Beverly Hills; "The Music Room" Inspired by Stevie Wonder
Beverly Hills, California (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- This month, Design House International (DHI), the City of Beverly Hills and Friends of Greystone are teaming up with the country's most acclaimed interior designers in a landmark event. "The Titans of Business and Best of Design Show House in Beverly Hills, Ca. at the historic Greystone Mansion. The event is open to the public November 2- 24.
For this year's theme, Design House International (DHI) asked all participating designers to select a "Titan of Business" as the inspiration for their design. The room design choices for the Greystone Mansion reflect the selected titan's individual style.
Lisa Turner- Interior Obsession of Beverly Hills was chosen to design The Music Room. As her inspiration, Turner has selected her client, music legend Stevie Wonder.
"Designing a room for this Historic Greystone Show House event was an extraordinary experience," says Turner. "I instantly knew Stevie Wonder would be my inspiration for the Music Room his creative and soulful music served as the perfect muse for the design."
A true modern titan and one of the most celebrated and prominent figures in popular music, singer, songwriter, musician and producer Stevie Wonder is equally know for his global humanitarian efforts, philanthropic leadership and generosity of spirit. His classic and timeless musical contributions have earned Oscar, Golden Globe and multiple Grammy Awards.
Blind since birth, Stevie's other senses are engaged more than most in everyday discovery and communication. His intuitive awareness of art and surroundings enable him to feel the most extraordinary details of a room's elements that a sighted person may miss. "I love touching people with love songs but also triggering some emotion on matters other than the heart," explains Stevie.
Paying homage to Stevie's sense of style and appreciation for detail, The Music Room is a lively infusion of vivid color, bold textures layered to create a truly luxurious modern interior with an ethnic vibe. Royal Blue walls set the backdrop for large arched Palladian windows and black and white marble floors while precious art and artifacts adorn the room to add dimension and lend visual harmony to the space.

Greystone Mansion, also know as the Doheny Estate, is a Tudor-style residence with 55 livable rooms situated on pristinely landscaped ground in Beverly Hills, Ca.. Construction of the Doheny Family estate was completed in 1928. This imposing home with its thick limestone walls, heavy wooden doors and slate roof is a West Coast landmark and today remains a popular setting for cultural and educational activities.
