Grand aspire-ations for hockey club after teaching jobs recruitment agency sponsors team
Birmingham UK (PRWEB UK) 13 November 2013 -- Bournville Ladies Hockey Club is hoping to attract new players to the club after Birmingham teaching supply agency, Aspire People, pledged £1,000 in sponsorship.
The club, which is home to Bournville Ladies’ first and second teams, has used some of the money to invest in new home and away kits for both teams and will spend the rest on coaching, training and extra equipment.
The first team is currently in division two of the Midlands Region Hockey Women’s League after drawing 1-1 with Stourport last weekend, while the second team are battling it out in division two of the Worcestershire League.
Founded in 1902, the club practices at the grounds of King Edward’s School on Edgbaston Park Road every Wednesday.
Michaela Powell, managing director at Aspire People, said: “As a company we are committed to backing local talent and I feel especially passionate about women in sport, as they often don’t get the credit and support they deserve.
“One of my colleagues play for the side, which is why we decided to sponsor them this year so we could support the club. Not only does it give something back to the community but helps raise the profile of Aspire People to local people!”
Cherie-Anne Baxter, Head of Marketing for Aspire People, plays for Bournville Hockey club as a goalkeeper. She says: "I can't feel enough pride on match day when the team turn up with their Aspire People kit on. On a serious note its a great way to give something back to the community we work in and support a sport that is up and coming after the Olympics."
Bournville Ladies Hockey club are currently looking for new players to join the first and second team and welcome players of all levels and experience.
Aspire People, established in 2004 and based in Sutton Coldfield helps education professionals across the Midlands find teaching jobs, supply teaching jobs and other support jobs in schools.
