Palm Beach County Guardian ad Litem Circuit Director Receives Statewide Leadership Award
(PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- Alan Abramowitz, the Executive Director for the Florida Statewide Guardian ad Litem Office, presented Kristen Solomon, Palm Beach County Guardian ad Litem Circuit Director, with the Leadership Award for the State of Florida. The award was presented at the Speak Up! For Kids of Palm Beach County, Inc. (the Program’s exclusive non-profit) end of year charity kickoff event held at Sandpiper’s Cove in North Palm Beach.
Mr. Abramowitz spoke to the donors, supporters and volunteers who are advocates for the more than 1,700 children in Palm Beach County who are abused, abandoned or neglected each year, saying “Kristen has been an amazing leader in the state, building relationships in the community to ensure children have a voice who otherwise would not. Her leadership inspires her staff, volunteers and community partners to meet the needs of our most vulnerable children.”
“Our volunteers work tirelessly to provide support to children who need a helping hand and pave a future of hope and emotional security when these kids need it most,” Abramowitz said. “It is my honor to be here to recognize their efforts and continue to do what I can to make sure we care for the children in our community.”
Also on hand was Palm Beach County’s Sheriff, Ric Bradshaw, and his wife Dorothy (who sits on the non-profit’s Board), Judge William Gladstone, and Speak Up! For Kids of Palm Beach County Board of Directors. Speak Up! For Kids of Palm Beach County is the non-profit Organization whose mission is to the support the efforts of the Guardian ad Litem Program of Palm Beach County.
“Today in Palm Beach County too many abused and neglected children go to court with no one there to stand up for them, to be their voice. I am honored by this overwhelming support. It furthers my mission to stand with the children of our community,” said Solomon, Circuit Director for the 15th Judicial Circuit’s Guardian ad Litem Program.
