AlertSystems React to CCTV after Alleged Unprovoked Attack at Sutton Railway Station
(PRWEB UK) 18 November 2013 -- It was been reported by London 24 on November 11 in the article titled ‘CCTV: Appeal after Man Launches ‘Unprovoked Attack’ on Three Rail Staff’ that police have released the CCTV images of a man they wish to identify. According to London 24 the incident, which occurred on October 5, saw a man approaching the gateline to leave the train station where a male member of staff was stood with his back towards the individual. The individual allegedly elbowed the member of staff in the back numerous times before a male and a female member of staff approached to help after an argument began. The individual allegedly pushed the female member of staff and punched the male member of staff, reportedly leaving him with swelling to the back of the head and bruising.
British Transport Police have released the CCTV images to the public in an attempt to identify the individual as the police follow multiple lines of enquiries.
Sergeant Darren Stenning who is leading the investigation told London 24:
“We do not tolerate assaults, abuse or antisocial behaviour towards members of staff who are simply doing their jobs and help the travelling public.”
As experts in commercial security systems, AlertSystems regularly follow news concerning CCTV, and were interested in the recent release of these CCTV images. A spokesperson for the company offered their thoughts:
“CCTV security systems play a vital role in protecting members of staff and customers. Incidences of assault can be difficult to predict and so it is crucial that adequate security systems have been put in place to offer protection to those on the premises. As in this recently reported case, police can use the images to further their enquiries, releasing the images to the public for assistance in identifying individuals in connection with the incident.
Unfortunately members of staff across all industries can be subject to abuse or antisocial behaviour which can be frightening for individuals who are simply doing their jobs. A CCTV security system can act as an effective crime preventative, but in the unfortunate case that a member of staff is subject to abuse, the system can help police bring their investigations to successful conclusions and help identify those responsible.”
