AirPatrol Expands With Asia-Pacific Regional Hub in Sydney, Australia
Maple Lawn, MD (PRWEB) November 13, 2013 -- AirPatrol Corporation today announced it has established an Asia-Pacific (APAC) division and named technology industry veteran Rick Wylie as General Manager. The company, which develops systems that provide mobile device security and services based on location and user, will have its offices in Sydney, Australia. AirPatrol APAC will be responsible for AirPatrol product sales and support throughout the Western Pacific, East Asia and portions of the Middle East.
“AirPatrol’s tremendous growth in Australia and Asia this past year has exceeded all expectations,” said Cleve Adams, AirPatrol CEO. “However, being based on the East Coast of the United States means we are literally half a world away from one of our fastest growing markets. With an office in Australia, we will be able to better support our existing customers in the region and build our global presence in the mobile security and location-based services industries.”
AirPatrol develops precision locationing software and systems that allow organizations to identify mobile phones, tablets and wireless devices within buildings and enforce security policies or push services and information to the device based on where and who its user is. AirPatrol’s ZoneDefense location-based mobile security platform is used by government agencies, research and development firms and large enterprises around the globe. AirPatrol’s ZoneAware platform allows retailers, healthcare providers, service and entertainment firms and other organizations to enable applications and access to information via mobile phones and tablets as they enter and exit “hot zones” as small as six feet across.
“Asia-Pacific is one of the fastest growing and the largest mobile markets on the planet,” said AirPatrol APAC General Manager Rick Wylie. “Tactically, we’re ideally situated to provide sales growth, product support and channel management for AirPatrol products throughout this very important region.”
Wylie and his team are no strangers to AirPatrol. They originally began working with the company as strategic security partners and landed several of AirPatrol’s early opportunities in the region.
