Three out of four people suffer from brain freeze, a quivering voice, and a racing heart, which are signs of glossophobia. In her anthology, Shaking Behind the Microphone, Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking, author Jill Ammon Vanderwood tells her story about going skydiving to overcome her fear of public speaking.

Shaking Behind the Microphone features stories from such greats as Emmy Award winning news anchor, author and speaking coach, Jan Fox of Fox Talks; Becky Blanton whose first speaking experience was at TED Global ; Barry Maher, business speaker and author of The Glass is Half Full; comedian, Dan Nainan who was petrified to do product demos for Intel Corporation, but he left his job to become a full time comedian, performing for celebrities such as President Obama and Donald Trump; and concert pianist, Juan Maria Solare, who overcame stage freight and now performs all over the world. This book also includes advice from Mark Grimm, author of Anyone Can Be a Dynamic Speaker, Yes, I Mean You, and Sandra Sherrin, founder of Speak Up Ireland tells about the advantages of learning public speaking at a young age.

The reader will also learn the value of public speaking education, through Toastmasters. There’s no need to let fear stand in the way of a promotion, a job opportunity, writing a book or a career change. Conquering fear can be life changing.

Shaking Behind the Microphone is a gift to every scaredy-cat speaker on the planet. Jill Vanderwood will hit a nerve with this book. Actually, it will calm the nerves of those who need it most!
