The Cynopsis: Digital Model D Awards honor the most outstanding work in online video content and advertising throughout the past year with categories that span new technologies, original content, digital advertising campaigns, and much more. The winners were announced during a ceremony at The Grand Hyatt in New York City on Tuesday. Cynopsis Digital is a daily publication covering the business of on-line and mobile marketing including new programming and industry deals, content media, advertising and technology.
Intersport’s winning campaign was a digital series which activated Gatorade’s sponsorship of the USA Today High School Sports website. Intersport followed the defending state champion Eden Prairie, MN football team as they prepared for their homecoming game during the 2012 season, filming 8 segments showcasing the team and coaches from the end of one game, throughout their week of preparation, up to the kickoff of their next game. With exclusive access to the team in the locker room, on the practice field, in the weight room, and off the field, Intersport integrated the organic consumption of Gatorade during practices, workouts, and games while telling personal stories about the players and their motivations. The series was turned around quickly and aired on USAToday.com throughout the remainder of the high school football season. Eden Prairie went on to win the 2012 Minnesota State Championship.
