Winshuttle Delivers Secure SAP Interaction to Mobile Users with New App for Windows 8
Bothell, WA (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- Extending access to SAP-based business processes to more people and more devices, Winshuttle is excited to announce the availability of the first Winshuttle Mobile app for Windows 8. With the app, customers can now interact with their SAP system using their Windows 8 device, allowing them to view, review and approve tasks such as purchase orders, leave requests and expense approvals even when away from their desktops.
“Businesses today are increasingly asking for mobile solutions that allow secure access to ERP-centric processes. We’re pleased the Winshuttle app takes advantage of key features of Windows 8, like Snap and tiles, to give on-the-go Windows 8 users the secure SAP interaction they need along with the rich functionality and ease of use they’ve come to expect from Windows,” said John Richards, senior director of Windows App Marketing for Microsoft Corp.
Winshuttle is dedicated to continually delivering innovative products that fully support and encourage the adoption of Windows 8. This app takes advantage of the touch capability and features of the Windows user interface to allow users to act on SAP business processes quickly, easily and securely. The Winshuttle Mobile app is available as a free download from the Windows Store.
Key features of the Winshuttle app include:
• Visibility: Users have the ability to view a list of all of the tasks assigned to them, allowing them to quickly review, approve or reject any task.
• Accessibility: Users have access to all of their forms which allows them to submit data and initiate processes anytime, anywhere. Additionally, users can login to any SharePoint site where Winshuttle Foundation is installed.
• Audit Trails: Users can view a workflow history associated with a task.
• SAP and SharePoint: Users are able to approve tasks and move the workflow forward, automatically updating SharePoint and SAP.
“Winshuttle is committed to empowering SAP users with the flexibility they need to perform their jobs, so an app to help our customers fully leverage Windows 8 was a natural next step,” said Vikram Chalana, co-founder and chief technology officer at Winshuttle. “The Windows user interface along with access to anytime, anywhere workflow will help our customers be even more mobile, secure and efficient.”
Further demonstrating its support for the Windows ecosystem, Winshuttle recently achieved Windows 8 certification for core desktop products Transaction, Query and Runner. These products have been tested to stringent Microsoft standards in order to assure seamless integration with the various new technologies within Windows 8, and have proven to work flawlessly with the new Microsoft platform. In particular, Winshuttle had to demonstrate ease of installation on the Windows 8 operating system while also meeting all of Microsoft’s security criteria including better protection against manipulation and attacks.*
