Clinical Research Coordinator From PMG Research of Bristol Wins 3rd Place in US Clinical Researcher of the Year Competition
(PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- PharmaTimes, a global pharmaceutical media and news organization, held its fifth annual US Clinical Researcher of the Year competition at the SAS Institute in Cary, NC. The competition is a competency-based three-phase process consisting of a multiple choice test, essay, interviews and a presentation to a panel of more than 30 industry expert judges. Chasity Monk, Clinical Research Coordinator (CRC) at PMG Research of Bristol, won the third place Pharma Bronze Award. This marks the second consecutive year in which a PMG Research CRC has placed in the Study Nurse/Clinical Research Coordinator category.
Although the competition brought together and recognized some of the best talent in the clinical research community, it was also a meaningful personal and professional learning experience for participants. According to Monk, “Competing in the final round of the Pharma Times Clinical Researcher of the Year Competition was an amazing experience. I was honored to be one of six people competing for the title, and winning the Pharma Bronze Award was more than I ever anticipated. It was such a privilege to represent PMG Research on a national level, and it's something I will never forget.”
The competition offers clinical researchers in the United States the opportunity to benchmark their skills against their peers in a variety of categories. It recognizes both new and experienced professionals from the clinical research community in various categories: Study Nurse/Clinical Research Coordinator, New Clinical Research Associate (CRA), Experienced CRA, Project Manager, Study Leader, and Clinical Team. Winners were announced on November 7th at the awards ceremony in Cary, NC.
“Making it to the finals not only gave me the chance to compete with my peers, but it also provided me with the opportunity to meet and collaborate with members of the research community from all across the United States,” explains Monk. “I am extremely dedicated to my career in research, and I wake up every morning knowing I have a career that I love. To me this feeling is priceless, and receiving recognition for my hard work and dedication is simply a bonus!”
