Etymotic Brings Hearing Protection to PASIC
Elk Grove Village, IL (PRWEB) November 15, 2013 -- This week, hearing health and high-fidelity personal audio company Etymotic Research will bring its family of active and passive high-fidelity earplugs and critically acclaimed earphones to the Percussive Arts Society International Convention (PASIC). Held annually, and this year at the Indianapolis Convention Center, PASIC is the largest percussion event, with one of the loudest expositions, in the world.
In addition to displaying their products, Etymotic will offer custom fittings for its Musicians Earplugs™ by audiologist Sara Newmann. Musicians Earplugs are custom high-fidelity earplugs developed by Etymotic over 20 years ago, following president Dr. Mead Killion’s participation in a noise study for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. They are still the highest fidelity of any earplugs available. Musicians Earplugs are made individually for each user. Regular use of these high-fidelity earplugs while practicing, performing and listening to music will protect hearing from the cumulative effects of overexposure to loud sound throughout life.
Demonstrations of MusicPRO® electronic earplugs will let participants experience the actual performance of these unique earplugs in a noisy exhibit hall. MusicPROs allow users to hear clearly until sound levels are unsafe and then automatically provides hearing protection.
Joining the Etymotic team at PASIC will be video producer Tom McDonald, who will be collecting footage for the next version of Etymotic’s hearing health video “Hear for a Lifetime.” Hear for a Lifetime is distributed to all middle, high school and collegiate music educator members of The National Association for Music Education and is the centerpiece of Etymotic’s newly expanded “Generation Hear” hearing health education and earplug distribution program.
