Cleveland Heart Founder Dr. Charles Richardson Appointed to ReliantHeart Board of Directors
HOUSTON, TX (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- ReliantHeart, Inc,. the manufacturer of the HeartAssist5® Ventricular Assist Device (VAD), has appointed Charles Richardson, M.D., M.B.A, the Product Architect and CEO of Cleveland Heart, to its Board of Directors.
Dr. Richardson co-founded Cleveland Heart whose medical technology focuses on Total Heart Replacement and ventricular assist devices. As Product Architect, he helped design the ground-breaking Total Heart Replacement, for which he won an innovation award.
Dr. Richardson has been primarily responsible for raising millions in private and public capital for the companies that he has co-founded. He has made private investments in the initial equity financing of companies and served as a member on Boards of Directors for early stage life science companies.
Dr. Richardson earned his M.D. with honors from Central America Health Sciences University School of Medicine, received his B.S. degree in Chemistry from the Winston-Salem State University, and completed the MBA program at the University of South Carolina at Moore School of Business.
In 2005, Dr. Richardson founded TransWorld Heart Corporation, whose mission is to dramatically improve the quality of life through innovative technology. The TransWorld Heart Soul Mate™ System senses naturally occurring electrical activity of the heart in real-time, and automatically applies electrical stimulation treatment if needed.
