ALLTEC, LLC Establishing New Surge Protection Device Manufacturing Facility in North Carolina
Canton, North Carolina (PRWEB) November 15, 2013 -- ALLTEC, a global leader in the design, manufacture and development of products and services for grounding and bonding solutions, surge protection, and lightning protection, announced today that it will open a new production facility in Asheville, NC. The facility will design and manufacture a diverse array of Surge Protection Devices (SPDs) for the global market. This operation is an important growth area in ALLTEC’s strategic development in the surge protection field.
“I am excited to announce this investment and expansion. We are seeing tremendous growth in our SPD product group that is directly linked to the increased usage and dependency of highly sensitive electronic equipment in our homes, businesses and industrial environments. ALLTEC’s new SPD Technology Center is a part of our mission to develop innovative, high-quality surge protection products that will help in preventing catastrophic failure of these sensitive electronic components,” said Alltec President and CEO, Christopher Bean.
The new operation deepens ALLTEC’s growing research and development (R&D) and manufacturing capabilities within the US. The SPD facility will focus on the development and manufacture of surge protection devices for main and sub-system electrical power up to 26KV applications, as well as a full array of models for data and telecommunication applications. Production of ALLTEC’s DynaShield® SPDs is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2014.
“The facility will provide a lot of possibilities for exploration into new SPD technologies and their commercial implementation,” said ALLTEC Engineering Manager – SPD Group, Sam Elalami. “The SPD Technology Center will include specialized product research and development, while also housing a manufacturing department that has been designed for quick product assembly, testing and packaging. The SPD product group is expected to grow fairly rapidly in the near future and the space has been planned accordingly.”
ALLTEC plans on conducting a public inauguration event in January to showcase the new facility to local and regional news organizations and business leaders. The exact date of the event will be disclosed in a separate release.
The new ALLTEC SPD Technology Center is expected to create between 25 to 30 new jobs over the next 2 years. Hiring for new positions will begin in January. Anyone interested in career opportunities with ALLTEC should visit http://www.alltecglobal.com/corp_careers.php.
